2018 Social Ride

Social Ride 24th – 25th Feb 2018
The weather was very wet all along the coast and the tablelands. A few brave souls ventured out to join in our Social Ride.
Michael welcomed them all and gave a talk about the club which has been operating since 1986. He gave some insight into how the ride base came into existance.
Luke Annetts local Vet and endurance rider gave a TPR and Vetting process display on Michaels horse.
Then 11 horse & Riders combinations saddled up and headed out onto the marked 20k track. Micahel, Damien & Narelle all wore High Vis vests so that they would be easily recognized by our visitors.
The Group took approx 3 hours to complete the course due to a slipperary track, but they all arrived safely back and Luke ran everyone through the post ride vetting procedures on Michaels horse Nasseur. His Heart rate was 50bpm and he passed all the tests ( jugular recall, gums, gut sounds and trot out )
Once the horses were back in their yeards and fed, those that stayed on had a sausage sizzle dinner and a good chat into the night.

In 24th 25th Feb 2018 TERC are running a social ride at our Girard Forest Ride Base.
