The ride program features 1 x 20k, 1 x 40k on Sat 21st and 1 x 20k, 1 x 40k & 1 x 80k on Sunday 22nd September 2019
THERE IS A TOTAL FIRE BAN IN PLACE – NO CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED AND THIS ALSO MEANS THAT THERE WILL BE NO HOT SHOWERS AT THE RIDE.
The Tenterfield ride organizing committee invites nominations for the Tenterfield endurance ride to be held on Sat 21st and Sun 22nd September at the Girard State Forest endurance ride base. The Tenterfield Endurance ride is QERA affiliated and is being run as a Hendra vaccinated horse only event.
GIRARD ENDURANCE RIDE BASE
Finding us is easy, we are located within the Girard State Forest.

It is reached through the Crooked Creek Rest Area on the Bruxner Highway 42 km east of Tenterfield towards Casino & 8 km west of Drake. The base is clearly identified by signs on the Highway & ride base sign leading from the highway, past the public Rest Area and into our grounds.
The Ride Base will be open from 12 midday Thursday 19th May
Terrific Tenterfield offers some of the best value Endurance riding anywhere. The State Forest base campground is maintained by the Tenterfield Club and includes secure grounds, clean toilets, 9 horse water points, 2 wood-fired hot showers, night lighting, central catering area. Campfires are permitted preferably in drums/containers. Clean forest water is normally pumped from Crooked Creek upstream of the Base to a header tank to service showers and taps around the ground and is suitable for washing and horse water. Personal drinking water is not provided, please BYO Drinking water.
Campers are welcome to remain at the grounds until midday Monday 23rd September.

BIOSECURITY
You must have a signed and completed the 3 day Horse Health Declaration form and have your HEV Certificate with you. HORSES will be checked before they can enter the ride base so please have papers filled out & ready to reduce any congestion. (PLEASE NOTE: your microchip number and horse details should have been sent to us prior to your arrival)
Please follow Biosecurity protocols. If your horse appears un-well, please notify the Chief Steward ASAP.

TRACK DESCRIPTION
Tenterfield Is a Challenging and Scenic ride with winding Forest Track, changing elevation and surface conditions.

We are in Drought, please bring as much water as you can.
Water – Please Use Wisely. BYO Drinking Water
Horse Manure
Please bring your own bags and take your horse manure with you when you leave. Numerous other non-horse groups use these base grounds.
Rubbish
Please take ALL rubbish with you when you leave. There is no rubbish collection out in the forest.
Toilets
Our modern design toilets do not have a flush. Toilet rolls are provided to the loos for public use.
Drake Village
Only 8km down the highway heading towards Casino. There is a general store offering fuel, food. and supplies and Lunatic Hotel/Motel is well known for its great meals and relaxed atmosphere. If you arrive Friday please let us know as a shuttle service can be arranged with publicans from 5.30pm.
Dogs
Prefer you leave them at home. Big and small must be on leads at all times and any droppings picked up and removed.
