Violet Cantwell

Duncan Woodhead - President
Duncan Woodhead has always been interested in riding from pony club in Wales to competing in polocrosse in Australia but he became more involved in sailing for a few years. In 2018 he rediscovered endurance riding and began competing on his Standardbred. He met Michael Combes and was introduced to the Tenterfield club and hadn't looked back since. He is now a passionate endurance rider and has been extremely competitive on his Arab mare, Ninja. He has completed two Tom Quilty rides, placing 5th and 2nd HW.
Rachel Brown - Treasurer
Rachel has ridden all her life and been involved in endurance since 2015 - starting out in the sport with a rescued thoroughbred. By the end of that year, the great (Harry) Houdini had arrived at the Brown household and she's never looked back. She loves the challenge, the travel, and exploring the countryside with her best friend.
Caroline Woodhead
Caroline has always loved riding both in the UK and Australia but only discovered endurance riding in 2019. With the support and friendships made through the Tenterfield Club she has progressed through from Novice to being a competitive Open Rider. She and her husband live at Alstonville and mostly train their horses around the area there.
Michael Combe - Life Member
Michael first started endurance back in the 1989 and soon became part of the Tenterfield club. His two daughters found Endurance Riding more fun than Pony Club and Michael became their strapper and the girls enjoyed success and disappointments as juniors. Michael eventually got to compete more himself and has completed a Quilty and the Marathon Shahzada ride as well as numerous training and endurance rides. Michael is a Chief steward and former Club President.

I started Endurance in 1988 after a few years of strapping for the club team. Shaiyana and I had a great partnership over the years with many placings and a couple of BC awards. I have also ridden some other wonderful horses such as Jabulani, Pinnacle Park Nishka and Jaytee the Rebel. My most memorable moments were my Quilty buckle on Shaiyana, winning Tenterfield ride in1996 on Jabulani and winning the Northern Rivers Zone Championships also on Jabulani in 1998. Also Shaiyana receiving her 5000 klm award at the Manilla Quilty.
Graham Childs
Graham Childs is the very best Strapper for his wife Narelle, and TPR s at rides when he can.
Narelle Childs
Narelle and Graham have been involved in Endurance since 1999. In that time we have traveled to rides in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Endurance has been great to us and we have met many friends we will have for life. We have been fortunate enough to have had 3 competitive horses, all of which have been outstanding competitors. The sport has not only involved us it also brought our daughter Kacey into this demanding discipline. I think there could be no greater training ground for not only young people but people in general. COMMITMENT, DEDICATION, PATIENCE all contribute to a successful Endurance Team. To date Narelle has succesfully completed over 11,235kms in Open Rides, and attained: 7 Tom Quilty buckles 5 State Championship Buckles 2 Shahzada Buckles

I started Endurance in 1978. Notable horses I have ridden were Jabulani on who I won many Hwt and BC awards. Half Sovereign was another good horse in my early days and I won a Q160 buckle on him. My most memorable moments would be My Q160 buckle and Seeing Chingford Just Dreaming come back from major surgery to achieve 3rd H wt at two Tom Quilties.
