Last Saturday and Sunday (8 & 9 March) we had our first social riding weekend of 2024 at the Girard Ride Base. Obviously everyone was excited and keen to start the season as we got a record number of 21 riders plus support crew camping.
Despite a few heavy rains showers the cooler weather was ideal for having fun on the tracks. Old members, trail riders and new members all enjoyed exploring the forest at their own pace and distances.
Saturday night we discussed the upcoming ride in May and spent a very social time around the fire. The hot showers were welcome as usual and a few jobs were ticked off the list.
A huge thanks to the tireless work of Chris Foster and Michael Combe, ensuring that the venue is always in good running order. Chris also put together the new shelving units for the storage container which is greatly appreciated.
